- Capacitive effect on the cable attenuates the communication signal
- Lower communication rates of DP network decreases the susceptibility to noise
- The DP line does not supply energy to the connected nodes
- The twisted cable prevents the effect caused by the magnetic
- The cable shield protects against electrostatic effect
